Berth Holders Facility
Based at Hamble Point Marina in Southampton, MDL Marinas Ltd required a full redesign of their Berth Holders Facility, encompassing a complete strip out and full internal and external refurbishment of the building.
The project began with a series of preliminary meetings, working closely with architects, structural engineers and the client to develop budgets and finalise plans before works commenced on site. Once agreed, our team carried out a full strip out of the internal facilities and external finishes, uncovering unforeseen structural works to beams and posts throughout, which were carefully managed to ensure full compliance with building regulations.
External walls were rebuilt with insulation, the sub floor was rebuilt and insulated, and all ceilings were insulated and reboarded, creating a fully upgraded building envelope. New individual washrooms and family rooms were built to the agreed design, with all windows and doors replaced and full tiling completed to walls and floors throughout, alongside new ladies, gents and disabled toilets.
The refurbishment was completed with a full installation of all systems — electrical, fire, waste and water — along with replacement external cladding and ground works to the car park and surrounding areas, with all works finished and handed over to the client on schedule.
